This survey is for a future post that I will be making but I need some evidence for it.
Recently I did a test with 5 boys and 5 girls all of the same age. It was to see if they wanted to become masters in the medical field. The results were: 4 out of 5 boys wanted to be basketball/sports professionals. 5 out of 5 girls wanted to be either gymnasts or dancers witch isn't so bad but has nothing to do with medical science or medicine.
Kids are the future and if they don't find interest in health then who is going to take care of us when we get old? And sorry to crush your dreams but the NBA drafts 60 players a year out of over 1000 aspiring high school and college students. It would be best to test your luck with health.
As for the girls you have to be really good to get into dance companies like the Alvin Ailey or New York Ballet dance company.
Women have their own stereotype in this society. Sometimes it forces them to have long hair, a skinny frame, and have sex appeal. This puts down there self esteem and can give them ideas about being prostitutes to make people like them. It is almost as if they are slaves.
I am working on a project to let people know about this issue. My first option is to take photos of women in harlem who are so called breaking the stereotype. My second choice would to make a podcast with girl who has experienced sexual discrimination.
I hope that people could acknowledge women for there personality not there looks.
